I was delighted to be asked to judge this show, as it was here in 1981 that I won my very first Reserve CC. I had an excellent entry and in these days of high fuel costs I thank everyone who travelled so far.. The quality of the bitches far exceeded the dogs, although the winners were all of excellent type. I found 4 dogs with a less than satisfactory scissor bite.

DOGS MINOR PUPPY (2)

1.Whincup's Tamilanda Panther Lilly Smart Black puppy of substance, nice round bone and tight feet. He has pleasing spotting, good depth of pigment and eye colour. Shown to advantage by an excellent handler, he is correctly made with a well-ribbed body and bags of potential. Best Puppy Dog

2. Tranter's Dalliviro Peter Pan In excellent coat and general condition, he is an attractive dog with a nice head and kind expression. Good depth of brisket, well-bodied and handled nicely to show off his steady movement and good temperament.

JUNIOR (5,1 abs)

1. Sibson's Tamilanda Vintage Pink An excellent Liver dog with correct construction. Especially good hind angulation, which enables him to move effortlessly around the ring. Pleasing head and expression with a good reach of neck leading to a level topline, well arched loin and well developed second thigh. Quality oozes from him and his calm temperament enables his owner to bring out the best. Delighted to award him Reserve CC and Best Liver dog

2. Gamble Cannabee Commander at Mullaboy Bigger type than 1, with lovely spotting and excellent bone. He has a very pleasing head, with a nicely arched neck and good topline. Well-placed shoulders, good depth of brisket. Really moves out with a lovely free action. Good temperament. Lots of quality.

2. Harrison-Stratford Dalkereve Dark Dragon Striking, upstanding liver boy who responds well to his handler. In lovely coat and condition with attractive spotting. Strong topline with well placed tail of correct length. Lots to like.

1. Lamb's Dalpetro Dean A typey dog of moderate size in good coat. Not moving very well today but lots of promise.

2. Talbot's Dalpetro Declan at Leaveslake Similar type to 1, but more of him. Good pigment and a dark eye. Really moves out around the ring

2. Todhunter & Robinson Millbelle Young Gun Liked this one a lot but he just didn't sparkle today. A strong dog with very attractive spotting and in good condition. Really moved well especially good looking from the side, kind temperament and good ring presence.

POST GRADUATE (5, 1 abs)

1. Alcock's Creaganbrec Face of Beau at Dalspartan Nearly blew it by being a little unsettled initially. I really like this dog, he is quality, and a good size, with attractive spotting and well angulated fore and aft. When he did settle he moved well and was balanced. A "genuine" quality dog.

2. Johnson's Tynevale the Tease Lovely type with good bone and substance. Very attractive head with a pleasing expression, good round bone, tight feet. Well-laid shoulder, strong topline. Just moved a little sloppily today.

LIMIT (7, 1 abs)

1. Munro's Tanstar Sea the Stars Very striking Black with really deep pigment. He catches the eye and doesn't disappoint on closer inspection. Substantial, good front angulation and correct depth of brisket with a strong topline and well arched loin. Handled to advantage to display his nice temperament and his ability to really move out and cover the ground.

2. Holburn's Glenlion Bowmore Bounder Good type of dog with a lovely head and expression. Elegant neck leading into well laid shoulders. Well off for bone with tight feet. Strong rear angulation with well defined second thigh. A really lovely quality dog.

3. Barret & Fort Shulune Ice and Fire Over Briarmist

1. Ratas Est/Int Ch. Alphadirato Future Brand Totally commanded the ring. A real stallion dog in his prime. Darkest of pigment with good eye colour. He has superb balance and movement, which is down to his excellent construction. Starting with the attractive head leading into an elegant neck, which flows on to a strong topline with well-set tail. No couch potato he is muscled with a well developed second thigh. Superb bone and substance and to complete the picture his temperament is wonderful. I had the pleasure of judging his superb Grandmother Ch. Skartofta's Clothilde many years ago and it was a delight to judge her Grandson. He was handled to perfection. 2. Christie Ch. Sophtspot Abracadabra JW Another beautiful dog. Excellent decoration and in lovely condition. He is really coming into his prime and has the quality we need so much. Elegant neck leading into a strong topline with well arched loin and good tail set. He shows the signs of being well exercised with terrific muscle tone. Really good conformation and handled well to motor around the ring. Considered for Reserve CC

1. Quayle Ir Ch Cubalibre Top Spot ShCh Lovely dog with excellent conformation. Well-laid shoulders, strong bone, level topline leading to excellent hind angulation, which enables him to move around the ring with drive. A top quality dog. Best Veteran Dog

2. McVicar Dundrave Ambassador Another dog in good condition and handled well. Excellent temperament, nice head and expression. Correct depth of brisket, well laid shoulders and level topline. Move nicely. 3. Stout's Tynevale Tender Tamerlan

1. Stocks Ch. Dalmark The Shaded Moon at Nospar Think of the standard and this dog meets it beautifully. He has lovely spotting of the correct Liver colour, masculine head with a lovely expression and a long elegant neck. Well balanced and with correct front and rear conformation he is a true carriage dog. Handled to perfection he drives around the ring. A truly quality Dalmatian.

1. Page's Winflash Elles Belles An absolute knockout. Superbly trained and handled. Attractive Black spotting, a lovely head and expression, excellent bone and substance for her age. All the angles looking good for such a baby, she floated around the ring and straight to Best Bitch Puppy and Best Puppy in Show

2. Fillingham's Tamilanda Blue Water Lilly Another promising baby. The excellent conformation that I would expect from this breeding. Handled well, she moved very prettily around the ring. Not quite the pretty head of 1 but that will come in time. I am sure she will have a bright future. Nice temperament

1. Stocks Kalokairies Lady Bollinger at Nospar Fantastic spotting on the whitest of coats. This pretty young lady was shown beautifully and really moved well. Dark eye, nicely arched neck and level topline leading to correct tail set. She has excellent bone and substance and the picture is completed by her lovely temperament. Only downside was her phantom

1. Lamb's Dalpetro Diva Very sound quality bitch in excellent condition. Attractive head and expression, nice arch of neck leading to a well constructed, compact body. Nothing overdone, she moved steadily with a balanced stride. Lots to like.

2. Page's Winflash Born To Be Wild Extremely smart young lady with pretty spotting. She has correct front and rear conformation with good bone and tight feet. Handled well she really moves. Lots of quality

She has well let down hocks, tight feet and good bone. Wonderful temperament, she is very well handled and really motors around the ring. Strongly considered for Reserve CC

2. Addy's Creaganbrec Evie Rose Lovely bitch with excellent depth of pigment. Finer head than1 but very attractive. Nice reach of neck leading to a level topline with well set tail. Very positive mover who was well handled. Lots of quality.

This bitch has a lovely, gentle expression; she is nicely spotted with excellent bone. She moved really well and paid attention to her handler at all times. Bags of quality

2. Dore's Dallidor Ace of Diamonds Of equal excellence and sharing many of the qualities of 1, this is an extremely lovely bitch that just went a little 'flat' today. Such a pity, she has lots to offer the breed.

1. Addy's Creaganbrec Rosie Cotton ShCh JW Fantastic condition and not looking her age. This bitch has always been presented in lovely condition. She is balanced and moves with drive around the ring. Feminine head, nicely arched neck and level topline leading to a well muscled rear end. Bags of quality. I really loved her and was delighted to give her Best Veteran Bitch and Best Veteran in Show

2. Dinsdale's Dalesbred Mariette A pretty black bitch in lovely condition. She is pleasing in all departments with a particularly pretty head. Lots of quality with a good temperament and steady movement.
