Judge's Critique

Judge : Mrs G R Levy

I thank the committee for their hospitality and especially my 3 stewards who assisted me so ably so that I was able to concentrate on my judging.  Although not a large entry there was a nice atmosphere around the ring and each class was applauded. 

Dogs
Veteran (1 2abs) 1  Ch. Kaytian Kalypso to Marzelina.  Liver 7 year old in very good condition.  Strong front, moved freely, well off for bone.  Lost out for best veteran as had lost some of his drive at the end of the day.

Minor Puppy  (1) 1 Fox’s Dalliviro Lightyear.  Although stood alone deserved his placing.  Black spotted with strong rounded bone, good depth of chest, wide front, lots of promise, although did not go further in later classes just lost out on maturity.

PD (4)  1 Talbot’s Dalpetro Declan at Leaveslake 11 months black , powerful mover, good topline and tail set,  very promising puppy. Beat his liver brother on movement and substance.   (2) Lamb’s Dalpetro Dean  (3) Whincup & Sibson’s  Tamilanda Vintage Pink.  

Junior (2, 2abs) 1 Dalkereve Dark Dragon JW  18months liver who flowed around the ring with good extension, correct topline and tailset on move, one of the best movers on the day. Very sound dog.    (2) Dalliviro Lightyear.

 Maiden (3, 1abs)  1 Dalpetro Declan at Leaveslake  2 Tamilanda Vintage Pink  3 Sampson & Petronio  Stocklore Wizard of the Forest. 

Novice (3, 2 abs) 1 Lamb’s Dalpetro Dean.  Litter brother of PD winner.  Good liver colour, moved well, good bend of stifle. 2 Tamilanda Vintage Pink  3 Stocklore Wizard of the Forest.

Graduate (7, 3abs) Roach’s Holderness Henman’s Hill.  Black spotted sound mover, good front, balanced dog, strong head.Not a flashy dog but lots to like. .  2.Taylor & McKinnon’s Frankish Hope and Glory for Kingpippin 3. Brindley’s  Dalmanti Precious Opal. 

P.G. (4) 1 Johnson’s Tynevale the Tease   Very pleasing liver dog in very sound condition, well off for bone, moved with strong powerful action. His handler moves him at correct speed.  Good top line and tail set on the move. Attractive spotting. Considered for BD.  2 Alcock’s Creaganbrec Face of Beau at Dalspartan  3 Holderness Henman Hill.

Limit (2) 1 Dodd’s & Pearson’s  Kelevra Hudson Hawk.  Black spotted,to be very critical would have preferred more spotting on head, but  moved well, strong front and good reach of neck.   2 Baker’s Oneowun Ohio.

Open (3) 1 Croft’s Doubtwell Show Stopper JW.  Well named  Really striking black dog with wonderful ring presence.  Well  up to size, good bone and moved with strong extension and rythmic action, lovely dark eye, well sprung ribs.   Best Dog & Reserve BIS.  2. McCarthy’s  Kilndandy Old Copper Reserve Best Dog.  3 Mapplewell Chocolate Box for Dalsparton.  Lovely class 3 top dogs.

 

Bitches
Veteran Bitch (9, 3 abs) 1 Petersen’s Phedante Devil in Disguise at Daedalus  8 years black spotted bitch in good condition.  Lovely outline and moved very well. Best Veteran.   2 Dinsdale Dalesbred Mariette  3 Richardson’s Mapplewell Hot Fudge

MP Bitch (4) 1 Simons & Emmett’s Dalliviro Reba Mac at Ellemestra  Very mature 8 month black spotted, moved out very well, well off for bone, good feet, plain head  Lots to like. Showed very well for such a young bitch.  2 Brindley’s Dalamanti Black Pearl  3  Bunting and Dunham’s Caldecacre Swab the Decks. 

Puppy (7,1abs) Lamb’s Dalpetro Diva.  Well balanced black spotted, moved with good extension, stiffle and good feet. Beat her litter brother for  Best Puppy.  2 Dalliviro Reba Mac at Ellemestra  3 Tamilanda Summer Pink at Connomoor.  Overall a very nice class and expect many of these youngsters to do well in the future.

Junior (4, 2abs) Townson & Pardoe’s Shacarlu Bumblebee at Daymadals   Black spotted, balanced bitch moved well, good feet, well up to size, well sprung ribs.  Should do as she matures .  2 Stevenson’s Dalkereve Divine Decision for Macula

Maiden (5, 3abs) Richardson’s Mystic Treasure over Mapplewell .  Sound movement, black spotted, well balanced, moved out well.  2 Connolly’s Tamilanda Summer Pink at Connomoor.

Novice  (7,3abs) Mystic Treasure over Mapplewell  2  Dalpetro Diva  3 Shacarlu Bumblebee at Daymadals.

Graduate (5) 1 Peers’ Dalliviro Limited Edition  Very dense spotting, which  you need to overlook, but one of the best movers on the day, good topline and tailset well off for bone and in very hard condition.  2 Rance’s Olbero One Summer Breeze. 3 Dalkereve Divine Decision for Macula

P.G (6) 1 Dodds & Pearson’s  Kelevra Mercury Rising  Well balanced black bitch, moved soundly. Good reach of neck   2  Peer’s Dalliviro Limited Edition  3 Kembray’s Dalmark the Sand Witch

Limit (7,2 abs) 1 Gibb’s Phadante Dixie Lily.  Really sound black bitch, who moved well with good extension, kept topline on the move and correct tail set.  Good depth and strong front. Just lost out on movement to the BB  Reserve Best Bitch. 2 Whincup’s Tamilanda Lilly the Pink .  3  Hobb’s and Whiting’s  Whinflash Loopy Loo.  Very nice class.

Open (10, 1abs) 1 Alexander’s Offordale Catalina.  New one for me lovely balanced black bitch from this very successful kennel, moved out with drive, kept good outline and tailset, well off for bone, correct size. This kennel always shows dalmatians in top condition and beautifully turned out and has an extremely competent handler. Best Bitch and BIS  2 Kembrey’s Dalmark the Super Sleuth. 3 Wright’s Boutonneux Artemis of Millbelle .  Very strong class would have liked to have more placed.

Brace (2)Both pairs showed extremely well.   1Dodd’s & Pearsons black brace lovely pair who moved in unison.  2Mackinnon’s black brace.
