For persons who have already been approved by the Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates, and whom the Club would support to award Challenge Certificates in the future.

For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with the Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an ‘A2’ List and who have the support of this club.

For those persons who:
a.) have judged a minimum of 40 breed classes at Open Shows or Championship Shows where Challenge Certificates are not on offer in the breed, with at least 160 Dalmatians present in those classes, over a minimum period of seven years and who have the support of this club.
b.) who have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).
c.) who have stewarded at least twelve times. (Is a requirement of the Kennel Club).
d.) whom the club would support to award Challenge Certificates in the breed if any of those persons are nominated to do so. Such persons must have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures, must have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer on Conformation and Movement, attended at least one seminar, specific to the Dalmatian, and run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club code of best practice and passed an examination and/or assessment and must have attended a “Points of the Dog” assessment conducted by a KC Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.

For persons who;
a) Have awarded Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed and who have judged a minimum of 40 Dalmatian Classes at Open or Championship Shows where Challenge Certificates were not on offer for Dalmatians, with at least 120 Dalmatians present in those classes, over a minimum period of five years, and have judged dogs of any breed for a minimum period of seven years and who have the support of this club.
b) Must have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances) Such persons must have attended at least one seminar, accordance with the relevant Kennel Club code of best practice examination and/or assessment.

For persons who have judged a minimum of 15 Dalmatian classes with at least 60 Dalmatians present in those classes at Open Show level or below over a minimum period of three years and who have the support of this club;
or
For those persons who have judged a minimum of 8 Dalmatian classes at Open Show level or below, with at least 30 Dalmatians present in those classes, over a minimum period of three years, and who have attended at least one seminar, specific to the Dalmatian, run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club code of best practice and passed an examination and/or assessment and who have the support of this club.

For persons aspiring to become judges in the breed and who have either owned a Dalmatian for a minimum period of three years or who are on the ‘B’ List, or above, of any breed club, irrespective of the breed concerned.
Judges Education Programme
In January 2025, the Royal Kennel Club launched its new Judges Education Programme system. Regulations relating to the Judges Education Programme came into force on 1 January 2021. All judges who wish to officiate must meet the minimum criteria set out by the Royal Kennel Club. Further information can be found below.

Requirements to meet this level:
- Minimum of five years proven interest in pedigree dogs
- Attend a Conformation and Movement seminar hosted by a Royal Kennel Club Accredited Trainer
- Complete a minimum of two full-day stewarding appointments
- You must attend a Requirements of a Dog Show Judge seminar with an Accredited Trainer—either in person or via Zoom—before attempting the associated exam
- Pass the Points of a Dog assessment conducted by a Royal Kennel Club Accredited Trainer (effective from 1 January 2024)
Eligibility to judge
All judges who are approved or pre-approved by the RKC to award Challenge Certificates are now Level 4 judges.

Requirements to meet this level:
- Undergo minimum of three mentoring sessions with a minimum of 12 months between first and third session
- Be observed judging a breed club show, breed supported entry show or championship show without CCs once mentoring sessions have been undertaken
- Complete remaining 10 full-day stewarding appointments (onetime qualification)
- Have owned/bred a minimum of three dogs when they obtained their first entry in The Royal Kennel Club Stud Book – save for exceptional circumstances (one-time qualification for first breed in which a judge awards CCs)
- Attended the appropriate sub-group field trial/open gundog working test for first gundog breed or ring procedure at licensed shows (German Shepherd Dog education programme) online exam (one-time qualification)
- Have judged 60 Dalmatians
Eligibility to judge
Unlimited number of classes for the respective breed at Limited, Open or Championship Shows (no CCs).
Any Variety classes Groups and Best in Show at Limited Shows.

- Attend a breed appreciation day (BAD) and pass a multiple-choice examination (MCE) for the respective breed.
- View ring stewarding seminar and take online quiz.
- Complete critique writing seminar and take online quiz.
Eligibility to judge
Unlimited number of classes for the respective breed at Limited, Open or Championship Shows (no CCs).
Any Variety classes, Groups and Best in Show at Limited Shows.

Judges Seminars
